MANILA, Philippines—Suspected communist rebels posing as military troops burned a prime mover truck in Kitaotao town, Bukidnon Wednesday morning, a military report said.

The truck, driven by Junil Migue, was heading towards Davao City when flagged down  in Barangay Sinuda by about 30 suspected New People’s Army guerrillas using a signboard bearing the logo of 23rd Infantry Battalion and checkpoint markings at about 1:45 a.m., the Eastern Mindanao Command said.

After burning the truck, the rebels fled, the report said.

Government troops conducted pursuit operations, the report added.
