677 suspected law violators nabbed in Quezon in 3 days

LUCENA CITY –– Police arrested 677 suspected law violators in three days of synchronized operations in Quezon province.

Colonel Audie Madrideo, Quezon police chief, reported Tuesday that one of the arrested drug personalities was drug convict Miguel Gobrin Jr., an alleged member of a notorious drug group.

Also arrested during the “simultaneous anti-criminality and law enforcement operation (SACLEO)” from July 4 to 6 were 82 wanted criminals, of which 22 belong to the top 10 wanted felons in different municipalities.

Police teams reportedly caught 72 violators for illegal gambling; 31 suspected drug pushers; 15 illegal fishers; seven illegal loggers; one for illegal possession of firearm; and three for unlawful possession of bladed weapons.

The rest of the suspects were arrested for violations of local ordinances in the two cities and 39 towns of the province.

Authorities also reported the surrender of 21 assorted illegal firearms.
