2 SAP beneficiaries busted in Lucena City drug sting

LUCENA CITY – Police arrested three drug suspects, including two beneficiaries of the government cash aid program for individuals who lost their for source of income due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

Lieutenant Colonel Romulo Albacea, Lucena city police chief, reported that Kris Herbert Decena, 37, and Ricardo De Luna, 50, were arrested selling a pack of shabu to an undercover police officer in Barangay Domoit at around 7:10 p.m.

Seized from the duo were 10 sachets of shabu.

Police said Decena is a drug convict.

The two were reported to be on the list of beneficiaries of the Social Amelioration Program, launched to help daily wage earners and the poor survive lockdowns imposed to prevent COVID-19 transmission.

Earlier, authorities also collared Ansary Dimapundag, 40, in another drug sting  in Barangay 10 at around 5:30 p.m.

The suspect yielded 11 plastic sachets of shabu.
