LEGAZPI CITY—Two electricians who arrived from Metro Manila on June 26, became the first two coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients in Daet, the capital town of Camarines Norte.

The workers, aged 27 and 37, first exhibited symptoms the day after their arrival.

Camarines Norte now has a total of 6COVID-19 cases, according to a report from the Department of Health on Saturday.

These are also the fifth and sixth cases of COVID-19 in the province.

The town of Labo first recorded a COVUD-19  case on May 11—a 45-year-old man who lives in a remote village.

Since his death on May 15, three of his close contacts also contracted COVID-19.

Meanwhile, Bicol region’s total number of COVID-19 patients jumped to 154 on Saturday after six locally stranded individuals (LSI), including the two Daet patients, and two contacts of previously reported cases tested positive for the virus.

The Bicol Inter-Agency Task Force (BIATF) is awaiting response from the IATF after it has adopted a resolution suspending for a month the return of LSIs and returning overseas Filipinos.
