Suspected drug pusher killed in Rizal shootout
SAN PEDRO CITY-A suspected drug pusher was killed in a buy-bust operation in Taytay town in Rizal province on Friday, authorities said on Saturday.
A report from the Rizal provincial police identified the slain suspect as an alias “Jeff.” The report said the buy-bust happened around 7:35 p.m. at Sitio (sub-village) Lupang Arenda in Barangay (village) Sta. Ana.
According to the report, the suspect fired his gun when he realized he was handed fake money as drug payment by undercover policemen.
The suspect then ran to a nearby building, a few meters from the buy-bust scene, but he was cornered and eventually shot dead by policemen during the shootout.
Police said they recovered a gun and about four grams of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) from the suspect.
