Drug suspect slain, 3 others nabbed in Cabanatuan City
CABANATUAN CITY –– Police here on Thursday killed a suspected trader of “shabu” (crystal meth), while three others were arrested during an anti-drug sting.
Lt. Col. Arnl Dial, city police chief, identified the slain suspect as Fernando Mendoza, a resident of Barangay Samon.
Arrested were Greg Ramos, 30, and Rodrigo Manalo, 34, both from Barangay Samon; and “Rica,” 28, a resident of Barangay Umangan in Aliaga town.
Dial said Mendoza fired a .9-mm pistol at the operatives but missed prompting the policemen to fire back during the operation in Barangay Samon here about 10 a.m.
Investigators recovered Mendoza’s gun, the P500 marked money, eight sachets of shabu, and a digital weighing scale.
Dial said the suspects had been under police surveillance.
