MANILA, Philippines — Pasig City will roll out its “TAPAT” program which will give loans to business owners and job-seeking residents as the coronavirus disease pandemic continues to take a toll on the economy.
Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto said the Pasig City Council approved the program which will give P5,000 loan for allowance of residents finding jobs and P10,000 loan to assist business owners.
“Ito ay programa para sa ating mga kapwa Pasigeño na makabalik sa trabaho. Loan po na limang libo para sa mga naghahanap ng trabaho, gagastos sa pamasahe at kailangan ng requirements,” Sotto said during the State of the City Address on Thursday.
(This is a program for Pasigeños to return to jobs. We will give a loan of P5,000 for those looking for work, allowance for their fees and requirements.)
“Sampung libo naman na no-interest loan para sa mga gustong magtayo ng negosyo, mga micro, small businesses natin at pwede rin sa mga negosyante na kailangang baguhin nang konti yung negosyo nila,” he added.
(P10,000 no-interest loan for those who want to start businesses, micro, small businesses in Pasig and for business owners who need to tweak their businesses.)
Sotto said the program will start next week as part of the city’s economic recovery and rehabilitation program during the COVID-19 crisis.
