DENR-CAR employees donate PPEs, other relief items to frontliners

MANILA, Philippines – Employees of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Cordillera Administrative Region (DENR-CAR) have donated a total of P1.4M worth in personal protective equipment (PPE) and other relief goods to support the fight against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

In a statement on Thursday, DENR-CAR said it was able to collect from its employees 6,383 pieces of PPEs valued at P241, 063; hygiene and sanitation supplies worth P155, 175; and food items worth P644, 062.49. The PPEs and the items donated by the employees from its employees will be given to medical and essential frontliners in areas hit by the pandemic.

DENR-CAR employees and the DENR-CAR Employee’s Cooperative also donated a total of P325, 000 to boost COVID-19 response in their respective communities.

In addition, seven DENR buildings were designated as temporary quarantine facilities. The DENR-CAR also provided assistance in the distribution of social amelioration program, repacking, and manning checkpoints to local government units in their region.
