LUCENA CITY –– A 22-year-old man tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), becoming the 10th recorded case in Tayabas City, authorities said Thursday.
The city public information office reported that the man from Barangay Wakas was for admission to an undisclosed health facility.
“The patient has a medical history of bronchial asthma and is presently asymptomatic,” the local information office announced on social media at 11 a.m.
The authorities are conducting contact tracing. All persons who had direct contact with the patient will be subject to strict home quarantine.
Of the 10 cases in Tayabas, now under a modified general community quarantine, seven have recovered and one passed away.
“We are reminding the public that this is a critical time to follow the guidelines and to practice all the prescribed minimum health protocols,” the information office appealed to city residents.
