The Southern Islands Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association will hold its 64th annual alumni homecoming on Jan. 21 at the Alumni Cultural Center on Osmeña Boulevard, Cebu City, with the theme “Living the legacy of caring.”
The daylong event will start at 8 a.m. with a Holy Mass to be officiated by Bishop Emilio Bataclan.
This will be followed by a business meeting at 10 a.m. Alumni president Gloria Jane Laurente-Matiga will deliver her state of the alumni report, while treasurer Dr. Marylou Belarmino-Ong will share the financial situation of the association.
An election of officers will also be held. Aurora Geverola-Yap will facilitate the nominations.
The grand reunion and fellowship will happen at 3 p.m. The awarding of outstanding alumni and recognition of jubilarians will highlight the afternoon activity.
This year’s jubilarians are Class 1952 (Diamond), Class 1957 (Emerald), Class 1962 (Golden), Class 1967 (Sapphire), Class 1972 (Ruby), Class 1977 (Coral) and Class 1982 (Pearl).
All jubilarians and the Board of Directors will present production talents.
The Lexus band will provide the entertainment.
The traditional candle lighting will cap the celebration.
The program will be hosted by Dr. Liduvina Retuya-Aliño and Edith Rose Ragay-Santos.
The current officers of the association are Jane Laurente-Matiga, president; Lydia Pacaña-Baccay, vice president; Josephine Alfafara-Alo, secretary; Dr. Liduvina Retuya-Aliño, assistant secretary; Dr. Marylou Belarmino-Ong, treasurer; Jacqueline Jean dela Serna-Briones, assistant treasurer; Lionel Kintanar, auditor; Belinda Tan-Lua, business manager and Dr. Carmelita Taneo-Villanobos, public relations officer. The board members are Dr. Amparo Gomboc-Balili, Lourdes Lebumfacil-Fernan, Dr. Zosa-Mediano, Ligaya Bataclan, Dr. Ofelia Flores-Sisno and Dr. Parolita Mission.
