CITY OF MEYCAUAYAN –– Police on Wednesday seized packs of “shabu” (crystal meth) worth P70 million from eight suspects during a series of drug-buy bust operations in this city.

Brig. Gen. Rhodel Sermonia, Central Luzon police director, said they managed to dismantle a big-time drug syndicate operating in the region with the haul.

Sermonia identified the suspects as Sandy Domingo, Christian Villaflores, Nida Barrientos, Rhodora Jose, Milky Joy Principe, Kevin Limbo, Bernard Flores, and Clifford Bello.

Most of the suspects are in the police drug watch list for high-value targets.

Sermonia said the syndicate has access to warehouses operated by another group that has ties with the main source of illegal drugs from mainland China.

The groups are also responsible for the bulk distribution of illegal drugs in Central Luzon, Metro Manila and some parts of Southern Tagalog areas, Sermonia said.
