Did You Know: July is Nutrition Month
July is Nutrition Month by virtue of Presidential Decree No. 491 signed in 1974 by then President Ferdinand Marcos.
The decree, which stated that a nutrition program was a vital and integral part of social reform and economic development, also created the National Nutrition Council (NNC) tasked to be the highest policy-making and coordinating body on nutrition.
The NNC holds office at the Nutrition Building on Chino Roces Avenue Extension, Taguig City. The 2020 Nutrition Month theme is “Batang Pinoy sana tall…Iwas stunting, sama all!”
