Town’s first 4 COVID-19 patients raise Bicol tally to 118

LEGAZPI CITY—Two women and two boys returning to Albay from Taguig City in Metro Manila were added to Bicol’s COVID-19 tally, raising the region’s total number of cases so far to 118.

The Department of Health said the four new patients gave the town of Manito its first COVID-19 cases.

They were close contacts of a 21-year-old woman, who arrived in Legazpi City also on Wednesday (June 30) from Muntinlupa City.

The two women were in their 30s, while the boys were aged 9 and 12, according to the DOH.

The 12-year-old patient first showed COVID-19 symptoms four days before arrival in Manito. The DOH did not say what symptoms were seen in the boy.

As of Wednesday night, the returnees were on quarantine.

Bicol has listed six COVID-19 fatalities.

Since transitioning to modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) on June 1, the region has seen 44 new cases of COVID-19.
