Fire destroys 5 houses in Ormoc

ORMOC CITY, Leyte—A fire destroyed five houses in Tambulilid village here Tuesday night with a resident suffering a small cut on the leg while assisting firemen who were trying to contain the fire.

The fire broke out past 7 p.m. and was put under control about 45 minutes after.

Although fire investigators said they had yet to determine the cause of the fire, village chairman Ronnie Roca said the fire started from the house of a certain Jun Villarin whose family produced candles.
