Duterte to announce decision on quarantine measures on Tuesday – Palace
MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte is set to announce on Tuesday his decision on whether to lift, extend, or modify the community quarantine / lockdown measures imposed nationwide amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, Malacañang said.
“I’ll let you know. But if I’m not mistaken, it will be tomorrow,” presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said Monday in an online briefing.
Previously, Roque said the COVID-19 task force already informed local government units of their quarantine classifications after June 30.
These recommendations will then be presented to the President for his approval.
Duterte two weeks ago extended the general community quarantine status of Metro Manila and several other areas until June 30.
Cebu City is under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) while Talisay City is under modified ECQ.
