4 more suspected COVID-19 patients die in Quezon

LUCENA CITY –– Four more individuals suspected of having contracted the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Quezon province have died, health authorities reported on Saturday morning (June 27).

In its 8 a.m. bulletin, the Quezon public information office (QPIO), citing the latest record from the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO), reported that the total number of mortalities among “suspects” reached 57.

From March 15 to April 13, the IPHO record showed 44 deaths under the “person under investigation” (PUI) classification, which was replaced by the “suspect” category in the Department of Health (DOH) reclassification.

The IPHO also recorded the deaths of 19 patients classified as  “probable” cases.

The latest report shows that the number of suspected virus carriers under hospitalization has increased to 39.

The number of suspects on home quarantine is now at 68.

The number of suspected COVID-19 cases in the province that have been cleared and discharged from hospitals is at 1,875 as of Saturday.

Provincial health authorities reported that 943 individuals listed under the “suspect” category have been discharged from different hospitals in the province.

While another 932 suspects have been declared “cleared” after completion of the mandatory home quarantine period.
