3 cops, 2 OFWs latest COVID-19 cases in Pangasinan

DAGUPAN CITY –– Two returning overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and three policemen are the new patients infected with the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Pangasinan as of Friday, according to records of the Pangasinan Provincial Health Office (PHO).

The two migrant workers, however, are being treated in Manila. The first OFW is a 26-year-old woman from Sison town, who has been confined at the St. Luke’s Hospital in Manila, while a 27-year-old seaman from Pozorrubio town tested positive after he underwent a medical examination in Mandaluyong City.

The three policemen were found positive of COVID-19 during the second round of a targeted mass-testing by the PHO.

Among them are a 37-year-old female police officer from Cabatling village in Malasiqui town and a 49-year-old policeman from Balingueo village in Sta. Barbara town. Both patients are assigned at the Malasiqui police station and would be isolated at the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital in San Carlos City.

The third police officer stricken with the virus is a 41-year-old man who will be isolated at a facility in the town.

The new patients raised the total number of COVID-19 cases in Pangasinan to 91, nine of whom have died, while 67 patients have since recovered. Around 15 patients are still confined at the hospital.
