3 suspected drug pushers nabbed in Sorsogon, Masbate drug stings

LEGAZPI CITY –– Three alleged illegal drug pushers were arrested by police operatives in separate drug stings in Sorsogon and Masbate, a police report said.

Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson, said the drug operations yielded 16 sachets of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth).


In Gubat, Sorsogon, Oro Gimpaya, 43, a resident of Barangay Balud Norte, was arrested for selling a sachet of shabu to an undercover police agent in Barangay Cogon at 4:55 p.m. Gimpaya was a high-value target illegal drug pusher.

In Masbate City, brothers Mario, 40, and Marlon, 39, surnamed Pontalba and residents of Barangay Ibingay, were arrested in a drug buy-bust in Barangay Nursery, at 7:45 p.m. Seized from the suspects were 15 sachets of shabu.


All arrested suspects were in police custody awaiting the filing of charges for possession and selling of illegal drugs.
