The Taguig Hall of Justice on Friday announced the closure of all its courts and offices until July 9, after members of the judiciary and several court employees were reportedly exposed to a person who tested positive for the coronavirus disease.
According to a memorandum issued by the Office of the Executive Judges on June 25, the shutdown was triggered by reports that a court employee had tested positive in an antibody test.
The said employee is still waiting for confirmatory swab results. Another court employee was found to have had close contact with a coronavirus-positive patient, but has yet to undergo both the antibody and swab tests.
Several employees have had contact with these two employees. All judges and personnel of both the regional and metropolitan trial courts were ordered to undergo self-quarantine for 14 days.
But court operations will continue via video conference hearings, electronic filings, among others. —Krixia Subingsubing
