MANILA, Philippines — Cavite has recorded 25 new coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases, the biggest increase in the province in the last 15 weeks, Governor Jonvic Remulla said on Friday.
“Total COVID ay 538 cases. 25 ang bagong kaso. Pinakamalaking talon ng kaso sa 15 linggo ng COVID sa Cavite,” Remulla said in a Facebook post.
(The number of cases is now at 538. There are 25 new cases, the most in Cavite in the last 15 weeks.)
On Thursday, Remulla said that almost 80 percent of COVID-19 patients in Cavite travel to Metro Manila for work or other engagements.
Remulla noted that an expert earlier predicted that the number of infected individuals in the province will increase two weeks after the implementation of general community quarantine in Metro Manila, which has been under GCQ since June 1.
Meanwhile, 13 police officers tested positive for COVID-19, according to Remulla, who urged his constituents to follow quarantine protocols, citing the sacrifices of police officers and health workers manning the frontlines against COVID-19.
