Ex-Pangasinan Rep. Amadeo Perez Jr. dies

DAGUPAN CITY –– Former Pangasinan 5th District Rep. Amadeo Perez Jr. died of lingering illness on Thursday morning. He was 83.

Perez died at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Urdaneta City, his relatives said.

He also served as chair of the Manila Economic and Cultural Office in Taiwan during the term of President Benigno Aquino III from 2010 to 2016.

He was the longest-serving mayor of Urdaneta and his last three terms were from 1992 to 2001.

He started his mayoralty stint in 1966-1968 and occupied the seat from 1980 to 1986 and from 1988-1992.
