LIGAO CITY –– After three months of closure because of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, one of the top tourist destinations in Albay, the Cagsawa Ruins in Daraga town, is now ready to welcome tourists.
Daraga Mayor Victor Perete, said the resumption of operation of Cagsawa, a Franciscan church built in 1724, believed to have been destroyed when the volcano erupted in 1814, started Tuesday.
“With the reopening of Cagsawa, we are hoping tourism activity will be revived very soon,” he said.
Perete reminded those who would like to visit the site in Barangay Busay, to observe health protocols, wear facemasks, and observe social distancing.
