DUMAGUETE CITY—A native of Bais City, Negros Oriental province was found with coronavirus antibodies upon her return after being stranded in virus hot spot Bacoor in Cavite province, authorities here said on Monday (June 22).
The 32-year-old woman, who arrived from Bacoor, is now on quarantine in a facility being run by the Bais government. She rode a mercy flight from Metro Manila.
Members of the woman’s family have also been put on quarantine although all of them yielded no signs of infection after tests, the city’s COVID-19 Incident Command System (ICS) said.
The ICS said though the woman showed she had coronavirus antibodies, the test results were inconclusive. She would be tested again for a more definitive diagnosis of whether she was sick with COVID-19, which has no cure.
On Monday (June 22), at least 210 natives of Negros Oriental, who had been stranded elsewhere, had been repatriated aboard a 2Go vessel, MV St. Michael the Archangel.
The stranded individuals were picked up by their local government units at the city port and taken to government quarantine facilities in their hometowns.
They would have to complete quarantine before returning home to their families.
