LUCENA CITY—Two COVID-19 patients recovered and a new coronavirus infection case was reported in the province of Quezon on Tuesday (June 23).
In a 5 p.m. report, the Quezon provincial information office (QPIO) said the recovered patients were from the towns of Catanauan and Caluag.
Pagbilao town now has five COVID-19 cases with the addition of the new case.
On May 23, Pagbilao has wiped its COVID-19 slate clean with the recovery of the last of its three previously listed virus carriers.
On June 19, a woman with no history of travel to areas with COVID-19 cases has been reported to be infected with the coronavirus.
According to Mayor Shierre Ann Portes-Palicpic, the fourth COVID-19 patient was a “homebody and had only been to the market and grocery store.”
“Hers could be a case of local transmission,” the mayor said on her Facebook page.
The fourth patient is now on quarantine and in stable condition, according to Palicpic.
The mayor has yet to provide information on the town’s fifth COVID-19 patient.
Calauag has recorded 11 virus carriers but nine have recovered, while one died. The new patient remains the only active COVID-19 patient in the town on the Quezon-Bicol boundary.
