MANILA, Philippines — Warm weather in the morning, followed by possible rain showers and thunderstorms late in the afternoon and early evening will prevail nationwide on Tuesday, the state weather bureau said.
“‘Yung easterlies, yung mainit na hangin galing sa Dagat Pasipiko ang nakakaapekto ngayon sa eastern part ng Visayas at Mindanao,” Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) weather specialist Ariel Rojas said.
(The easterlies or the wind coming from the Pacific Ocean will affect the eastern part of Visayas and Mindanao.)
Pagasa said Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers in the afternoon caused by both the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.
It warned of possible flash floods or landslides in rain-affected areas.
“Wala naman po tayong binabantayang sama ng panahon o bagyo na posibleng mabuo o pumasok sa PAR [Philippine Area of Responsibility] in the next three to five days,” Rojas added.
(We are not monitoring any weather disturbance that may form or enter the PAR in the next three to five days.)
Meanwhile, the wind speed forecast in Luzon is light to moderate moving in the southeast to southwest direction while its coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
In the Visayas and Mindanao, the wind speed forecast is light moving in the east to southeast direction, with the coastal waters remaining slight.
