Local oil firms hike pump prices anew

MANILA, Philippines — Pump prices of diesel went up for the seventh straight week, this time by 85 centavos per liter amid reduced output and stronger demand.

Also, prices of gasoline went up for three weeks in a row, by P1.05 per liter.

Petron, Shell, Seaoil, Total, PTT and Phoenix announced hikes effective 6 a.m. on Tuesday.

Diesel prices have risen by P7.85 in the last seven weeks while gasoline prices have increased by P4.05 in the last three weeks.

Petron, Shell and Seaoil also raised kerosene prices by 30 centavos per liter, the seventh weekly hike, now totaling P9.10.
