4 suspected hijackers killed in shootout with Batangas police

The shootout between joint forces of the Batangas PNP and police regional office and the suspects happened at 4:30 a.m. in a checkpoint at the San Roque village, Sto. Tomas,

Senior Inspector Lizel Dimaandal, spokesperson of the Batangas provincial police and Superintendent Raul Tacaca, chief of Sto. Tomas PNP, said in separate interviews.

Tacaca said the Sto. Tomas PNP received reports of suspected hijackers in the area and were conducting follow-up operations when they spotted the suspects’ Starex van.
