P130,000 counterfeit cigarettes seized in Isabela
ROXAS, Isabela – A 34-year-old man was arrested with P130,000 worth of counterfeit cigarettes in a bus terminal here Sunday afternoon, police said.
Col. James Cipriano, Isabela provincial police director, identified the suspect Jayson Pagay, an unemployed college graduate from Barangay San Rafael in this town.
Pagay was arrested after police found 300 reams of counterfeit cigarettes bearing a certain brand from his possession around 2: 40 p.m.
The suspect will be charged with violation of the Republic Act 8293 or the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines.
