A total of 129 detainees of Caloocan police would undergo swab testing for the coronavirus disease after two of the jailed “Piston 6” jeepney drivers arrested for quarantine violations tested positive for the disease.
Caloocan chief of police Col. Dario Menor said that 50 have so far been tested on Friday afternoon.
The policemen who apprehended the jeepney drivers were also swabbed. The custodial facility would also be disinfected, he added.
“We have talked to [Caloocan] Mayor Oca Malapitan and he said that the detainees would be isolated depending on their test results. Those who will be asymptomatic will be quarantined while those who show symptoms of the disease will be brought to the hospital,” he told Inquirer in an interview. —Nikka G. Valenzuela
