LEGAZPI CITY –– The police officer involved in the killing of a fish vendor had suffered stab wounds during their argument on Thursday night in a coastal village here, an update on the investigation said Friday noon.
Police Senior Master Sergeant Ervin Dalde was taken to the Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital for treatment of stab wounds on his stomach and armpit.
Councilor Joselito Atos told the police that while he and his brother Hermel Atos, the fish vendor, were roasting fish, Hermel and Dalde had a heated argument that led to a commotion at 11:15 p.m. in Barangay 27-Victory Village.
The commotion was followed by successive gunfire, Joselito told the police.
He said after the commotion, he saw his brother sprawled on the ground while Dalde was wounded.
Police Scene of the Crime Operatives recovered from the crime scene five empty shells from an unknown gun, two Glock magazines each loaded with 17 bullets, a 16-inch bolo, and personal belongings of the victim.
The incident is still under investigation.
