Soccsksargen region has 4 new COVID-19 patients

COTABATO CITY –– The number of people who contracted the coronavirus disease in the Soccsksargen region has climbed to 47 as four more patients tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday, a regional health official said.

Arjohn Gangoso, speaking for the Department of Health (DOH) in Region 12, said three of the four new patients were stranded residents from South Cotabato, while the remaining one was from Sultan Kudarat with a recent trip to Manila.

He said all are now in stable condition.

The patients from South Cotabato were earlier stranded in Manila and were rescued by the provincial government through its “Sagip” (Rescue) program.

He said the 30-year-old man from Sultan Kudarat arrived in the province on June 10 from Manila and was tested positive for COVID-19. The man was the region’s 44th COVID-19 patient.

Gangoso said the three other patients who arrived in South Cotabato on June 13, 15, and 17, respectively, were still awaiting their PH number from DOH after they tested positive for COVID-19.
