MANILA, PHILIPPINES – More than 7,000 employees in Makati City Hall are set to receive P3,000 cash bonus in celebration of Makati’s foundation anniversary, the local government announced on Thursday.

Makati Mayor Abby Binay said 3,425 regular employees, 3,876 casual employees, and nine contractual employees will get the cash bonus on June 22, Makati’s 350th foundation celebration, to assist them amid the ongoing coronavirus disease threat.

“At this time of uncertainty, we give priority to initiatives aimed to help Makatizens, including our city employees, cope well with the challenges brought on by the ongoing crisis,” Binay said in a statement.

However, the Mayor said all activities planned for this year’s anniversary celebration are canceled due to the pandemic.
