Online Chrism Mass set on June 19
MANILA, Philippines — The Archdiocese of Manila urges members of the clergy and the faithful to join the online celebration of Chrism Mass on Friday at 9 a.m.
Traditionally held on Holy Thursday, the Mass was postponed because of COVID-19 quarantine protocols that banned public gatherings, including liturgical services.
It is during Chrism Mass that the chrism oil and the oil of the sick are blessed, with the vicar forane later distributing them to parishes in their vicarate, said Fr. Reginald Malicdem, the archdiocese’s chancellor.
