Lower Bicutan’s Purok 4 under ECQ starting Thursday night

MANILA, Philippines — The Taguig City government on Tuesday announced that Purok 4 in Lower Bicutan will also be placed under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) due to rising coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in the area.

In a statement, the Taguig LGU said that the period of ECQ will start at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, and will end on July 1 at 6 p.m.

The decision of the local government was based on the recommendation of the Taguig City Epidemiology Disease Surveillance Unit, which noted a cluster of three or more confirmed COVID-19 cases in the area.

Previously, the Taguig LGU decided to place Purok 5 and 6 in Lower Bicutan under ECQ starting Wednesday, June 17 until July 1.

Under the period of ECQ, movement of residents will be restricted to the purchase of essential goods. Residents will also be required to have their Taguig Unified Quarantine Pass when buying essentials.

However, employees of establishments providing essential goods and services and residents of Purok 4, 5 and 6 will be allowed to go to work, the LGU added.

“All residents of Puroks 4,  5, and 6 are advised to use the next 24 hours to inform their employers and other family members of the localized quarantine,” the LGU advised.

“Rest assured that the city government continues to work to ensure the safety of Taguigeños amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Let’s all continue to do our part during these challenging times,” the local government assured.

Taguig City, as well as other areas in Metro Manila, are under general community quarantine until June 30 due to rising COVID-19 cases.
