Wife of COVID-19 patient is Oriental Mindoro’s 26th case

CITY OF CALAPAN –– The wife of a coronavirus disease (COVID-19) patient is the recent addition to the number of cases in Oriental Mindoro on Wednesday.

Governor Humerlito Dolor said before noon that the woman from Barangay Villareal, Socorro town, was the 26th case in the province.

The patient, tagged as Patient 1514, is a 58-year-old woman, who, with her husband, was stranded in coronavirus hotspot Cavite province. They arrived at the Calapan port on June 1.

Her husband, Patient 1435, is the remaining active COVID-19 positive case in the province.

The woman was asymptomatic and requested that she stay with her husband in one isolation room in the hospital.

She was given protective gear, face shields, gloves, and vitamins, and was advised precautionary measures.

Her husband, now on his eighth day at a hospital, was doing better than the previous days.

Dolor appealed to all locally stranded individuals to stay home for 14 days since arriving in the province to prevent the spread of the disease.
