PDEA urges citizens to report illegal drug activities via hotlines, Facebook page

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has included the social media platform to widen the reach on possible information regarding illegal drug activities in the country.

In a statement on Wednesday, PDEA Director General Wilkins Villanueva said the Facebook page “Isumbong mo kay Wilkins” was created to allow a more accessible venue for informants and concerned citizens to report illegal drug activities.

Meanwhile, PDEA’s 24/7 call and text hotlines can be accessed through 09953547020 for Globe subscribers and 09310278212 for Smart subscribers.

Villanueva assured the public that the agency will treat every information with confidentiality, saying he wants the public to be “more involved in the fight against illegal drugs.”

“Rest assured that all received information will be treated with the utmost confidentiality. Send reliable information and help us end the drug menace,” he said.

Villanueva added that reports from citizens will lead to “conduct of intelligence operations, and casing and surveillance operations, resulting in the arrest of high-value targeted personalities, seizure of sizeable amounts of illegal drugs, and dismantling of illegal drug facilities.” Jim Mendoza, Trainee
