3 wanted for rape, homicide held in Camarines provinces

LEGAZPI CITY –– Three persons wanted for rape and homicide were arrested in separate manhunt operations in Camarines Sur and Camarines Norte.

Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, spokesperson of the Bicol police, said police operatives armed with an arrest warrant collared Ernesto Elcano, 60, and Gilbert Elcano, 39, in Barangay Caorasan in Bula town, Camarines Sur around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.


The suspects will be presented to the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 33 in Pili town for rape and homicide charges.

In Camarines Norte, Redentor Pano, 41, a fisherman, was arrested at his residence in Barangay Hamoraon, Mercedes town at 1:15 a.m. on Wednesday.


The suspect was facing five counts of rape without bail recommendation under RTC Branch 40.
