LUCENA CITY, Philippines – Police arrested 405 suspected law violators in Quezon province, 35 of them alleged drug pushers, in three days of synchronized operations.
Colonel Audie Madrideo, Quezon police chief, reported that authorities seized a total of 56.92 grams of shabu or crystal meth from 35 suspected drug pushers during the “Simultaneous Anti-Criminality and Law Enforcement Operation (SACLEO)” from June 13 to 15.
Police also collared 77 wanted criminals, 18 of them belonging to the top 10 wanted felons in different municipalities.
Police teams reportedly caught 93 violators for illegal gambling, 18 illegal fishers, 6 illegal loggers, 3 illegal cutters of coconut trees, and one for illegal possession of firearm.
The rest of the suspects were arrested for violations of local ordinances in two cities and 39 towns in the province that include defiance of curfew hours and other safety and health protocols amid the coronavirus disease pandemic.
