DOH approves hiring of 8,494 health workers
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) approved the emergency hiring of more than 8,000 personnel for health and quarantine facilities last week, and nearly half of the slots had been filled, according to President Rodrigo Duterte’s latest report to Congress.
From June 8 to 12, the DOH approved 8,494 slots for emergency hiring in 269 facilities such as hospitals, quarantine centers, temporary treatment and monitoring facilities, and diagnostic facilities.
A total of 4,541 workers had been accepted, and a third of them were hired in Metro Manila. All in all, the DOH has provided a total of 16,660 health personnel to different health facilities.
