MANILA, Philippines – Isolated rain showers experienced earlier by several parts of the country would become more frequent in the coming days, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Monday.

Pagasa’s weather forecast showed that while generally fair weather and slightly cloudy skies would be experienced in Luzon including Metro Manila, the public should brace for rains as similar scenarios would occur.

In Visayas and Mindanao, rains are also possible due to clouds along the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ).

Just recently, Pagasa declared the start of the rainy season as Tropical Depression Butchoy and the southwest monsoon or habagat have brought a considerable amount of rain in various areas.

Temperatures in Metro Manila and Laoag are expected to play around 25 to 33 degrees Celsius, 24 to 35 degrees in Tuguegarao, 25 to 32 degrees in Legazpi.

Due to the ITCZ and the rains, temperatures in Visayas and Mindanao may be slightly lower, ranging from 26 to 31 degrees Celsius in Iloilo, 26 to 32 degrees in Cebu, 24 to 30 degrees in Tacloban, 23 to 31 degrees in Cagayan de Oro, and 24 to 31 degrees in Davao.

Fisherfolk and sea transport operators using small boats can operate as no gale warning has been raised in any part of the country.
