COTABATO CITY—A nine-month-old boy, who tested positive last month for SARS Cov2, the coronavirus that causes COVID-19, has recovered, according to health officials.
Arjohn Gangoso, speaking for the Department of Health (DOH) in the Soccsksargen region, said the boy, Cotabato City’s 10th COVID-19 patient and the region’s 24th, was now in stable condition.
The baby was exposed to his 11-year old sister, who was the region’s 23rd COVID-19 patient.
The sister had been exposed to the city’s eighth COVID-19 patient, a 26-year-old employee of the city government who rented an apartment owned by the girl’s family.
Health officials said the city employee had also survived the disease and was discharged on June 2 while the 11-year-old girl remained on quarantine.
A total of nine patients in Cotabato City have already recovered while four others are showing signs of recovery.
Gangoso said the Soccsksargen region, composed of South Cotabato, Cotabato City, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani and General Santos City, already reported a total of 22 recoveries since March 16.
The region has at least 39 COVID-19 cases and one fatality.
