2 nurses tested positive for coronavirus in Tagbilaran City

TAGBILARAN CITY Two nurses in a private hospital here tested positive for the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), which causes COVID-19.

Mayor John Geesnell Yap II disclosed this information on Saturday, adding that the patients were already isolated inside the hospital.

Yap also said the officers of the hospital and the city health department are now tracing individuals who might have come in close contact with the two infected health workers.

The local chief executive likewise asked residents of Tagbilaran City to wear face masks and observe physical distancing to help stop the spread of the virus.

Early this month, a 65-year-old woman in the city also got infected with the virus. She already recovered from the disease.
