LUCENA CITY, Philippines – The remaining coronavirus disease (COVID-19) patient in Real town in Quezon province has recovered, Real Mayor Diana Abigail Diestro-Aquino said Friday night.
Diestro-Aquino said the patient, an 84-year-old woman from Barangay Ungos, has been listed as “recovered” by local health authorities in a report issued at 6 p.m.
The patient submitted herself to a third reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction test that turned out negative.
The town has six recorded COVID-19 cases and all of them had recovered.
However, Diestro-Aquino said all the cured patients except “Case #1” who already completed the mandatory 14-day strict home quarantine period will still have to undergo the same isolation phase as part of safety protocols.
The local health authorities still keep watch to eight active suspected virus carriers, five of them have been confined in a medical facility while three remain under home quarantine.
