MANILA, Philippines — Police officers seized P16.6-million worth of shabu or crystal meth placed inside Chinese tea bags following the arrest of four drug suspects during a buy-bust operation in Caloocan City on Friday night.

Ylagan said members of the Caloocan police station drug enforcement unit conducted the buy-bust operation in Barangay 188 in Tala at 8 p.m.

The bust was carried out after the police coordinated with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency to conduct intelligence gathering and surveillance against the suspects.

Seized were over two kilograms of shabu concealed in Chinese tea packages, P5,000 worth of marked money and P47,000 worth of boodle money.

The suspects and pieces of evidence were brought to the Caloocan police while drug charges are being readied against them.
