Wife of COVID-19 patient gets infected in Cagayan
TUGUEGARAO CITY –– The wife of a 30-year-old patient, who had contracted the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Alcala town, has also been infected.
The woman, also 30 years old, was confined at the Cagayan Valley Medical Center on Thursday night, where her husband, a migrant worker, has been receiving treatment since June 10, said Dr. Glenn Mathew Baggao, the hospital’s medical chief.
The couple returned from Pasay City on June 8 in a rented van. They are the latest of four new cases recorded in the province after a month-long lull from infections.
A third patient, a 21-year-old Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) who resides in Lal-lo town, was also brought to the hospital on Thursday.
The fourth patient is a 30-year-old OFW, who arrived from Dubai on March 18, and who returned home recently to Echague town in Isabela.
Dr. Leticia Cabrera, acting Cagayan Valley director of the Department of Health, said the woman submitted to a 14-day mandatory quarantine at a facility of the Overseas Workers’ Welfare Administration in Caloocan City, before motoring to San Fabian village.
