LOOK: Aguinaldo mistakenly identified as Bonifacio in PTV’s Independence Day coverage

MANILA, Philippines — State-run PTV on Friday apologized after it mistakenly identified the country’s first President Emilio Aguinaldo as Katipunan Supremo Andres Bonifacio during its Independence Day coverage

In a statement, PTV said it will revise the error in the video and will be uploaded on its social media platforms.

“The said error was already corrected and the revised version will be uploaded in the Network’s social media pages,” PTV said.

“We sincerely apologize for this mistake. Rest assured that under the new PTV Management, necessary training and skills development will be initiated to avoid similar inaccuracies. We hope for your understanding on this matter,” it added.
