MANILA, Philippines — Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Archie Gamboa called for an end to irregularities in the nation’s police force while honoring the hard work of his officers as the country celebrates Independence Day on Friday.

Gen. Camilo Cascolan, PNP deputy chief for administration, at Camp Crame in Quezon City.

(Filipinos are witness to the valor, hardwork and sacrifices of our police force. We showed our patriotic fervor by fulfilling our sworn duty to serve, protect, and take care of our countrymen.”

(It is mandated that we continue our service in an honest and honorable way. Let us stop anomalous ways because we are the enforcers of the law.)

Gamboa also honored police officers who worked hard in serving the people despite amid risks of contracting the coronavirus disease.

(We are now being tested by the health crisis due to coronavirus and police showed greatness to the public as frontliners and peacemakers.)

(We have dedicated police officers who did not think twice in participating in the war against the pandemic. Their swift response is what we expect in the time of calamity and disaster.)
