Manila gov’t hiring 100 seamstresses to make face masks

MANILA, Philippines — The Manila city government is looking for 100 seamstresses who will to make face masks to address the shortage of medical protective gear during the COVID-19 pandemic, city employment service office said Wednesday.

The Public Employment Service Office of the City of Manila said they need 100 seamstresses and 20 master cutters to produce face masks.

Applicants must be residents of Manila and must belong to the age group of 21 to 59 years old.

The local government office also said hired employees will get P2,000 worth of salary per day.

As of Tuesday, the Manila government recorded 1,663 COVID-19 cases. This includes 493 recoveries and 108 deaths.
