Negros Occidental has 12th case of COVID-19

BACOLOD CITY –– Negros Occidental has recorded its 12th case of the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19), said Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson.

Patient No. 12 is a 31-year-old male overseas Filipino worker (OFW) from Cadiz City with travel history to Saudi Arabia.

“He is presently quarantined in a facility,” Lacson said.

Aside from the patient in Cadiz City, the Department of Health also recorded another COVID-19 case involving a 48-year-old OFW from Kalibo town, Aklan.

Of the 12 COVID-19 patients in Negros Occidental, nine were repatriated OFWs, the DOH said.

As of June 9, Western Visayas has 127 COVID-19 cases, 48 of whom were OFWs.

Of the 127 COVID-19 patients, 28 were active, 88 have recovered, while 11 have died.
