MANILA, Philippines — A low pressure area (LPA) spotted east northeast of Surigao del Norte province will bring rain showers and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas on Wednesday.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the weather disturbance might develop into a tropical depression.
As of 3 p.m. on Tuesday, the LPA was estimated at 305 kilometers east northeast of Surigao City. It is embedded in the intertropical convergence zone that is already affecting Palawan province and Visayas.
The weather system is also seen to trigger the southwesterly windflow over Mindanao.
